Ontario Veterinary College 1996
I can’t believe it has been 20 years since I graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1996. The past 15 years since the opening of Avonlea and 8 years since the conception of Hollybank have been very busy. I can definitely say that “time flies when you are having fun” or more specifically in my case “doing what I love doing”, which is providing veterinary care to your four legged companions and helping to educate you about how to care for your friend. My inspiration to become a veterinarian began when I was 8 years old. Through much dedication and devotion, I was able to save two wild baby birds and release them back to nature. I continue to feel the same happiness and sense of accomplishment that I felt when those birds flew away, when I help you help your furred friends.
When I am not at the clinic you may find me at the hockey rink cheering on my two boys, Bradley and Russell. Donnie, my husband, keeps a low profile mostly staying in the back fixing the computers and completing any odd jobs that are required. We are home to many four legged furred family members who keep us on our toes. After the passing of our beloved Hector, Dunkun, aka “Dennis the Menace”, came into our lives. He is a very active and intelligent Border Terrier who has definitely learned how to get what he wants, including his sister, Alena. Alena is a beautiful and sweet (no bias here) Rottweiler who loves her family and chasing her ball. Celine and Zuuk our two cats provide entertainment for Dunkun and Alena and prove that “dogs drool and cats rule”. Life is certainly a whirlwind, but I wouldn’t change a thing!
